whatever dude, you jumped into a conversation and gobbed off unnecessarily, it annoyed me and rightly so, you don't need to talk to people like that, that's all I will say

I've never pretended to have a huge amount of knowledge around PCs as far as hardware, processors and all the technical stuff goes so I'm keen to learn, just next time try saying what you said without being so obnoxious, I don't mind being told I'm wrong but there are ways of speaking to people, speak to people how you would like them to speak to you..... god I sound like my dad now lol

Hey Nnorton long time no speak! Not sure if your still about but I wondered if you could provide me with another of your pearls of wisdom regarding my desktop!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0788432817

this is the case, if you recall I upgraded the GPU and PSU accordingly and the machine now makes a fair old bit of noise! It has a spare slot on the back for an additional fan and I wondered was it worth getting one and if so, are they all generic sizes or do I need a special one given this Chasis as far as you know?

would this be ok/worth picking up for my desktop?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aerocool-Shar ... 27c89e5812

or perhaps this one:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cooler-Master ... 2325697ffb

this is the PSU I have:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170809260447? ... 447&_rdc=1

and this is the graphics card I got:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150837264731? ... 97.c0.m619

so in theory adding another fan to that PSU will be alright would you agree?

Thanks

The side window should be 80MM. On the rear of the case there’s also a mount for an additional 80, 92 or 120 mm fan. The front of the case there are two 80 mm fan mounts.

So the Aerocool wouldnt work. The Cooler Master looks good its ball bearing, pushes up to 85CFM, and has a noise level of 13 - 30 dBA.

The back can accept 1 fan either 80/92/120MM.

You want to use the front and side fans as intake, and the rear fan as exhaust. Definately use a 120MM in the back.

thanks buddy I managed to get it all up and running. the fan fitted perfect and I just used the plastic screws that came with it as for some reason where the metal screws should go there was no thread for the screw

slight side note, have you ever heard of a fan like this interfering with the computer at all? Its just since I installed the fan the sound that comes through my USB Video capture device is distorted for any console. At first I thought it was just my DC but I tried the TGX as well and its still an issue. Of course it could just be coincidental and my USB device may have died... I've ordered a new one anyway to see what happens lol

Thats a great pc, good quality components should last you a long time.
I know you dont really go for emulators but that computer of yours will
emulate the Dreamcast,Saturn and PS2 without any issues.
nice job.

Anyone got any ideas about more cooling options for my specification machine?

Case : Galaxy 3 Gamers Style Midi Tower Case
Motherboard : Gigabyte H61M Motherboard Technology
CPU : Intel Quad Core I5 2380P 3.1Ghz CPU
Hard Drive : 1tb Sata Hard Drive
Memory : 8gb DDR3 1333 Memory
Graphics Card : XFX ATI RADEON HD 6870 1GB GDDR5 HDMI Graphics Card PCI-E 2.1
Optical Drive : 24x Dual Layer Sata DVD Writer x 2
PSU: Corsair CX500 V2 500W PC Case PSU Quiet Power Supply
Cooler Master Excalibur 120mm 12cm Black Case Fan

I bought an extra fan for the rear but the small side fan and GPU fans aren't adequate and I really have no idea what to look for
