PM sent. For Sega Rally you pretty much need the analog controller or a wheel. I tried playing with the digital controller during our tests and it was near impossible to get the car going where I wanted.

1.) Who has a netlink?
2.) Who is interested in Netlink play?
3.) If you don't have a Netlink would you be interested in purchasing one?
4.) Would you feel comfortable spending $15-20 on a VOIP adapter and manually setting it up in order to play online?
5.) Who has netlink games or the ability to *ahem* acquire *ahem* and play netlink games?

1. I have a Saturn and a Netlink!
2. Yes, very interested in Netlink play...
3. I have a Netlink!
4. Yes, I have a VOIP adapter and will be trying to set it up before too long!
5. I have Pseudo Saturn working! I have Virtua On :)

I do not have a netlink adapter but would be interested in getting one. Do all games that support netlink still work? Anyone have a list of games that work with netlink?

All the USA netlink ones work. Virtual On seems to be the main one with lag issues but it works. Distance and ping between you ever you are playing against is fhe biggest factor

We're up to three with working setups now:

Hawkzer0

So far we've been communicating through text messages, which works fine, but as more players join the mix would it make sense to have a centralized area to coordinate and troubleshoot? I was initially thinking an IRC channel (since it's appropriately retro), but definitely open to other ideas. Thoughts?

Id liked to see a fully revived netlink zone. With maybe a SaturnBB just like the dreampipeBB + IRC. I know SaturnNetlinkLeague wants invovlement in some way

Has anyone tried the dctalk IRC channel with netlink or dreamcast? Should be: pwchat://chat.freenode.net:6697/#dctalk

Tested it with 4.0 and same results as with dreampipe irc, im fairly certain the in game browsers are either ver 2.0 or 3.0. my guess is 3.0 as 2.0 was not compatible with irc so who knows, 3.0 wont go onto dreampipes irc

After a little digging I'm pretty sure freenode uses encryption, which explains why the DC browsers fail to connect (same reason they can't use modern email servers). Didn't dreampipe take down its IRC?

edit: port 6697 uses encryption

pwchat://irc.freenode.net:6667/#dctalk

might work
