Hello guys, I don't remember having a quake 3 arena mod for dreamcast, and this game has a very good and fluid fps engine, and looking on the internet I found a mod called Urban Terror that seems to be very well done remembering the counter Strike. The question is, why don't we port the quake 3 arena mod to the Dreamcast? Another question is whether it would be possible to use this and other mods on the Dreamcast? I believe so, but I don't have the experience to do that, what do you think?

Looks interesting. Although the maps look larger than DC maps. They used ioquake3 engine to make the mod.
Originally a total conversion of id Software's Quake III Arena, FrozenSand released Urban Terror as a free standalone game in 2007 utilizing ioquake3 as a game engine.
Urban Terror started out in 1998 as a planned map pack for Quake III Arena, in which real world environments would be featured. It expanded from this idea to a full total conversion featuring realistic weapons and gameplay similar to Action Quake 2.
Maybe someone with more experience modding can say if this will work on DC maps.

You can add smaller maps (with new textures and models) and new player models, afaik, but modding the game won't be possible without the source code. The PC version is open for mods but the DC wasn't build with mod support in mind. An old friend of mine was able to add new maps. But everything deeper like changing the feeling of a gun or add a new one wasn't possible.

I would love to use this engine on Dreamcast. I'm a huge fan of it.
