dark wrote:Play Tech Romancer, its a good game, and the mechanics/gameplay are quiet different from a traditional fighting game such as Street Fighter. In a way, its a little bit like Powerstone with the various items and the multi-directional running/walking. Some of the robots play very differently, including one robot which cannot jump at all. Lots of good music and a really detailed story mode too.

I played this game to death back around 2002.

I wouldn't say it feels like Powerstone per se. Movement in 3D space is no where near as intuitive or free form as PS. And items in TR simply build stats (higher defense, damage boost, etc.). It really does feel and play much like the ol' 2D fighter Cyberbots, which TR is essentially a spiritual sequel of. Even Jin Satome from Cyberbots is a guest character in this game which is pretty darn cool. The game looks a bit dated visually as its a port of a ZN-2 arcade title. Though somehow it makes up this shortcoming with some cool/wacky mecha designs and anime influenced art style. It is very charming and ultimately quite fun to play experience.

Any games you have picked up for a relatively expensive price only to be dissapointed by the actual game. For me, that would have to apply to Karasu. I am not overly into shooters so I am not the best qualified to judge but it just seemed to lack in character compared to Radirgy.

I would be willing to pay something like 50 EUR for a game like Rez or Evolution 2 (PAL versions). But generally I like to wait for a better bargain.

Well, I didn't quite say that I will hold my breath until I get them for 50 EUR...

And of course I would need luck, as I did when buying Sonic 2 (PAL) for 5 EUR. As I have stated before in a couple of comments, all that is needed is patience and good bargains are bound to be found.

Rarity is the keyword here. Sonic 2 is not Evolution 2...

It only takes one spelling error in the ebay listing.

true, but SA2 is a very common game (by that I mean high quantity print), evolution 2 on the other hand...is not & therefor a rare which in turn makes it expensive (you'll never find it cheap unless the seller is a complete moron who does not know what he has  )

Generally no, just because, by virtue of the expensive price, I tend to hold out for months and months before buying, researching all aspects of the game to make sure I really want it. Expensive games are seldomly an impulse buy for me.
