The GC version looks vastly superior in an emulator, as Dolphin allows you to render the game in HD, which blows away the paltry 640x480 that the DC can deliver over VGA. (All GC games become progressive with Dolphin, as OGDCFAN99 mentioned, except that you can do 1080p or higher and not just 480p.)

Dolphin is an incredibly demanding program, however, so you need a relatively new PC to run it. SoAL is also not compatible with several of Dolphin's speedup options, which makes it even more demanding than some of the more lightweight games.
