NG-DEV TEAM?

They have not released anything since Neo xyx - Gunlord was awesome, only the low res graphics let it down somewhat but I loved it. Have they quit porting their games to the Dreamcast definitively?

I know we have Hucast which is half of NG-DEV TEAM. So how could ng-dev team games not sell enough on DC when Hucast games obviously do -if indeed that was the problem.

I read that neo xyx did not sell so well, its in fact a very good shmup. So will NG-DEV TEAM return to dc?
Does anyone have official info or quotes from ngdev team on the matter.

In short, I want more of their games on the dc.

It's my understanding they are sticking with only MVS and their own arcade system from here on

That 'no' button was so lonely, so I gave it some TLC...

XYZ was a horribly buggy game.
Gunlord was also, also, a little buggy.
I think they don't know adapted perfectly their game on DC.

There was a few bugs in neo xyz yes but I still thought it a good game.
I never did encounter any bugs in gunlord myself.

Perhaps Hucast think that games specifically made for the DC are a better proposition?

Perhaps if they asked for feedback and communicated here on the forum they could better gauge what the DC community might like, what genre etc?

I loved Gunlord very much and we need more games like this, something a bit different.

In my review, i gave some bugs on GunLord : http://dreamcast-news.blogspot.com/2012 ... rd-re.html , see chapter "Le Beta-testing ?"
However GunLord is a good game, the graphics are very poor for the 128 bits.

XYX bugs are horrible : http://dreamcast-news.blogspot.com/2014 ... yx-re.html , see chapter "Le Beta-testing ? "

Razion (on MVS) is buggy too... my review : http://x-community.grafbb.com/t1445-mvs ... zion#20386 and the Bugs Report here : http://x-community.grafbb.com/t1445-mvs ... zion#20426

But the NG Dev Team's still good thing for the Dreamcast.

I'm torn on the vote here... I can't decide.

I'd love NGDT to port future titles to the DC, but as Presbytier mentioned - I think this new platform their working on is precedent, and TBH, it sounds very exciting...

https://twitter.com/ngdevteam/status/696618829682753537

I remember asking Hucast - some time ago - if Razion could be ported over to the DC...
Say, NGDT handling AES / MVS development & after version updates - given time, Hucast handle a DC version.
The response being - due to RAM, highly unlikely. Plus, NGDT games, with every release, get a little bigger.

I know they are more comms prevalent on their Facebook page, I'm pretty sure I've seen them questioned about DC ports & perhaps more insight might be found therein.

I recall Adam mentioned emailing them about this very thing, & NGDT replying (I think it's in the Razion thread here).

Fuck it, Khan... I vote YES !!

Yes is good. I messaged them on twatter about this arcade platform they mentioned, how cryptic. Any additional info available about this new platform? Its not the coleco chameleon is it?

From Twatter - "It's an arcade system first and foremost. But a home variant too. It can only be programmed in C/C++ and assembly".

That sounds a lot like the Neo Geo way of doing things.

Ahh... a home variant too?
Sweet, I'll certainly start saving up my pennies, I think.

:D

Sir, good looking out - very, very cool news.
