Your TV must suport 240p in order for the cable to work. The only way to know if your TV supports 240p is to either read the manual or test the TV, such as by plugging the yellow composite cable into the green component jack on your TV and trying to view the component input. If you see your Megasis/SNES game in black and white, your TV supports 240p. If your TV says no signal or invalid format, it doesn't support 240p.

Interesting.

So would it support every game in the DC library?

Assuming it correctly switches to 480i mode on games that don't support the VGA box, then yes, a DC component cable would work with every game and not require any cable switching. You still need to patch the game or use a boot disc if you want to use 480p on games that support the VGA box but disallow it in the bootfile, though.

If this thing does come out would it work with a component to hdmi upscaler or adapter? I'm wondering because from the sound of it it just takes the vga signal and puts it through the component cord so I don't know if a component converter would work with it since it isn't a true component signal.

There is a small update here today.

Dreamcast Teaser Trailer: these boards allow the toggling of a couple different LPFs as part of Dreamcast YPbPr development.
