On Sega Europes weekly #ASKSEGA segment i submitted a question about what they think about the dreamcast community ect. and to my surprise they answered !

That's pretty cool! Now if only they would release all the server code to some of the Sega sports games for DC lol

It just goes to show that even though some people thought the Xbox was the spiritual successor to the Dreamcast, Sega and Microsoft are very different companies. Sega approves of people trying to maintain their old online games, while MS sends you a C&D if you try to revive the old Xbox Live.

Oohh really? Hahaha! All we know Microsoft did not come in video games industry for good! I remember people called XBOX 360 as Dreamcast 2, something i didnt like to hear

That was cool to see them acknowledge it, rather than they just ignore all this

They might be different companies with a different approach, but I still see the Xbox as the spiritual successor to the Dreamcast. Just the first generation Xbox though...

Not sure this is a good thing since The Dreamcast Junkyard got a cease and desist from Sega after their Ultimate Collector's Guidebook got featured on Sega Central.

As long as we aren't promoting piracy, I don't think Sega would care too much about revival of online services for Dreamcast. At least i'd hope lol
