ok so i asked a friend he helped me poke around and i couldnt find the ttyS1 file but i did get to options here is what i saw

"options.ttyS1" is the filename, not options. open it the way you did with 'options'

again dreampi people, does this even have deal with dreampi setup? it uses mgetty i guess?

Is your modem and router a combo or separate units?

seprate units also for dome reason my friend thinks that file may not exsist due to a command i tried earlier idki will try when iget home

Might be worth trying a direct connect with the pi to the modem and bypass the router and see if that works. I know that's another method that works for me at least.
