You know that it is a patch disc?
That is, to fix the hardcoded IP issue for people not using the dreampi.

But the patch disk will not help you in the issues you are having....

I think 95% of the issues are router related or that other devices
in the network are reserving those ports. That is why you sometimes
need port-forwarding and DMZ. The DMZ device is the last device to
get the traffic, that is, the router goes through and check all
related/established connections and port-forwarding and if not hit it
sends the traffic to the DMZ device (it is pretty much a waste bin).
By adding a port-forward hopefully you can force that port to the DC
instead of another device in the network.

The solution I did for Tact can not be applied to this issue, but I
will investigate if we can have a "common protocol" between
the DC Dreampi and Server(s).

Exactly. People that are having issues are most likely using crappy routers. I once had a combo modem/router from Thomson, which supposedly supported DMZ but logging the traffic, I saw that all packets supposedly being sent to the DC was not correctly forwarded and so I contacted the ISP and Thomson, which both then claimed that the router did *NOT* support DMZ, so port forwarding was the solution for SOME things. This was a piece of crap router/modem which also never worked with VOIP on the PS4 because of the *disabled* firewall was not actually disabled and NAT/forwarding did not work correctly with all devices/packets/Ports.. This means that they probably shared the same firmware and system interface with a range of different routers. And/or the ISP overrided "multicast" packet forwarding despite of router settings.

Just a quick add to my comment above : The old ISP where I had such issues (NextGenTel for those in Norway) are known to override the settings and doesn't even give you the actual admin password either, so the login details that they provide gives very little options to configure. While I found it through google, it seems they may have disabled alot of options through a custom firmware. Imo the best ISPs gives you a separate modem and router - and in my case, they gave me a Asus "Dark Knight" router free of charge without extra monthly fees. Its worth checking out what options you have in regards to ISPs that are available in your area and google for customer reviews. Or do what Jonas mentioned, call your current one and hope you get to talk to someone who can provide you with what they allow/block or even ask for a separate modem and router if that is the issue. At least in Norway, many ISPs allow you to get an alternate setup with a separate modem and router - though you might have to buy your own router of choice. I strongly recommend any Asus router. They have tons of options and can be quite cheap aswell. Just make sure that the router is the actual problem which as said, most likely is the case with most of the people with trouble forwarding the packets to the DC even if you seemingly have it configured it correctly. You should be able to set a static DHCP IP with the MAC-address for the DC and forward the packets or set it in DMZ-mode. DMZ will set the DC "before" (or after if you will) any firewalls or NAT setup and thus give it directly access to the internet without limitations in the router - given that the ISP doesn't block such UDP packet transmissions where multiple connections are directly sent to the client/game.

Finally got all equipment needed to go online. Thanks to PC I got ahold of a couple of US modems and USB line inducers, already had the USB modem and Pi ready =) But of course when I tried connecting to the AFO server I ran into troubles, can't connect.

I have configured DMZ, but this hasn't done the trick (yet). Next stop opening ports manually.

I'm getting up to the part where you get the message of "sega.com is not responsible..." once I press on OK there I get disconnected "failed to find server" "the game server may be temporarily down"

Quoting from PCWiz

You'll have to login to your raspberry pi and do the following to fix it:

Log in with username "pi" and password "raspberry" and then enter the following command:

"sudo iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp -d 63.251.242.131 -j DNAT --to-destination 146.185.135.179"

Note that this will be erased when you power off or restart the Pi so you'll have to enter it again.

Thanks for the heads-up Xiden! Hopefully this iptable trick will eventually be included in the dreampi image so I can just plug & play =)

Have been booting up the other online games, so far so good (with the exception of a lack of players unfortuatly)

Edit; so cool, I still have my old AFO savefile with 50+ online games played, during the attract mode it showed old leaderboards. Will upload it later, perhaps it features fellow dc-talk members :)
