I don't think that's enough. We all know now in days, SEGA published titles barely break even and never really earn the return money back.

For someone calling himself "MrSega", I would hardly regard those comments as pro-Sega. I also would think Sega would vehemently disagree with you, look at how successful Sega was with Sonic Generations, it goes to show that if Sega focuses on building quality games, people will buy them.

MrSega wrote:Releasing this game in digital form sounds like a much better, much wiser investment then letting Gearbox talk them into wasting $90 million on a shooter that will fare poorly against crap like Call of Duty.

They only version of this game that I think could go digital only is the PC version since they could release it through Steam, rather than on DVD. Considering that Sega has already done that with Sonic Generations, that is most likely going to happen, as a way of protecting against game piracy.

As for the other versions of the game, they are allscheduled to be boxed games on DVD, BluRay and whatever disc format the Wii U uses. Also as I previously pointed out, the Wii U lacks a hard drive, therefore its going to be impossible for a game as large as Aliens: Colonial Marines to be distributed to the Wii U via a digital download.

As for your last comment, you seem to underestimate Sega's ability to sell games, Sonic Generations was on sale last November and was up against a lot of high profile games including "crap like Call of Duty", Call of Duty: Black Ops came out about the same time and Sega were still able to rack up some quite respectable sales across the 4 formats it was available on.

Gamers have been demanding a decent Aliens game for YEARS and if Sega and GearBox can deliver that, then they could have a huge hit on their hands, right at the peak game buying season before Christmas too! :)

Why are you being so anti-Sega? Everyone knows they never make money. That's the Sega way. They're rebels. Money is for corporate fat cats. They're going to release a ray tracing console and an iPad competitor, and they're going to do it with no hope at succeeding dammit, because they don't sell games.

i happin to ifind somthing on paly sega continuing to prepare more games for the Western market, Sega was able to bridge a partnership with New Line Cinema in September to develop a game for the movie tie-in game The Golden Compass[47] and also partnered themselves with Fox to develop two new games based on the Alien franchise.[48] Sega then assigned critically acclaimed developers Gearbox software to develop a first person shooter (Aliens: Colonial Marines) and Obsidian Entertainment to develop an RPG based on the popular film franchise for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. The latter was cancelled for undisclosed reasons by Sega. However, as of January 2011, Aliens: Colonial Marines is still in production by Gearbox. Sega has also been publishing games from independent studios (such as Platinum Games), and is currently considering turning them into franchises.

(Sega has also designed an online flash game site dubbed "PlaySEGA," which includes both original games and ports of classic games, with retro Sonic games being promised in the long run.[49] Users of this site earn various amounts of "PlaySEGA Rings", which they can use to customize and house their avatar or enter weekly cash drawings.) any thing ?

In September 2009, evidence was uncovered[50] that suggests Sega is expanding into the online gambling sector with the launch of an online casino and poker room in October 2009. In 2010, Sega published a sequel to the original Sonic series with Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode I.

Ah I'm sorry, my bad. I guess that was just me being an evil "Sony Fanboy/Fanatic" again.

I thought I'd try and introduce my evil plan for Sega to make money and sell games. Blast ... foiled again!

I
I seriously doubt it. Like I said, its been in development since 2008 & has missed 3 years worth of releases. If this were really the case, the PS3,360 version would be released on time with a Wii U/University souped up port following several months later.

The fiscal seems too damn risky. Plus the game being released in time for the machine when it will also be shipping for PS3/360 would defeat the whole purpose of buying the console just to play the game.

Personally, I feel the only way Aliens Colonial Marines will ever see light of day is as a big budget multiplayer downloadable title. We have until April to find out.

Well looks like you're going to be wrong (again) MrSega, no big surprise!

Aliens: Colonial Marines box art bares its teeth

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/33 ... its-teeth/

Quote: "Sega has unveiled the rather slick-looking box art for Aliens: Colonial Marines.

The pack shot reveal follows the recent release of a new gameplay movie, a cinematic trailer, and the disappointing news that the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC game has been delayed from a spring launch to an autumn one."

Check out the video on the article too.

Looks to me like its gonna come on a DVD-ROM with a box!

@stu. Sighs* Its a prototype. Its not official & lacks an ESRB rating. Which means its nowhere near completion and has no projected release date planned. In order to even be considered for publication, the game must have an ESRB rating of "RP" which would mean the IP is in BETA(near completion).

Its lack of one shows its not. Its just a prototype.

But why bother? You're clearly trolling just for the hell of it. I ignore you but you insist on bullying to get my attention while trying & failing to justify your obnoxious behavior.

I'm done. Go ahead & keep stepping on rakes.

Hmm a failed attempt at making excuses.

This box art is from the UK edition of the game, if you bothered to pay attention you would of noticed the PAL designation on the box art. The ESRB is a US organization and does NOT rate the games for the UK. This is the official artwork from Sega.

But since you claim this box art is a merely a "prototype". Here's the official US box art for the games from the Offical Sega website for the game, complete with an ESRB rating of RP btw.
