I happen to own Elansar on Jaguar now. As expected, it is very much like Myst, and a high quality production for this type of genre. I have only played it for about an hour, but happy to describe it if people have questions.

How are the load times? I heard they were a bit irritating but I don't know if it's true.

I heard the games originally had too many (and/or too long) load times. I don't know if this got fixed before/for the DC release and I was curious.

Haven't noticed anything so far, you press start and it begins. Also not ooading times between screens so I guess that's fixed

I stand corrected, there were not loading times in Elansar (I wrote the above post when I was playing the first game), there are some loading times in Philia, but nothing that really bothers, a few seconds between scenes (like entering a house in an rpg or something)
