@androiddreamcast Kallistios was written from scratch, by fans for fans, so it has NOTHING to do with the original dev & is therefor legal

Thanks for responding , I'm pretty sure the homebrew tools were made illegally anyway but sega doesn't mind anymore and I believe there is a homebrew game (I think rush rush rally not sure) that was made using the official dev kit , they tried to get a license from sega europe and sega europe refused but the team that made rush rush rally weren't sued by sega for illegal game development. So I'm sure that If devs used official tools sega wouldn't mind

I don't know where you got this information, but it must have been about a different game. Rush Rush Rally Racing was developed with neither KOS nor the official Katana development kit. We used the same SH4 compiler as KOS, but not the KOS libraries.

We have been a bit quiet, haven't we? Behind the scenes we're still active, though. We've looked into the possibilities of partnering with various parties, developed new tools for game development, improved and optimised our Dreamcast libraries, and worked on future (Dreamcast) games. But of course we all have our private lives and day jobs, so these things take time...
