New VMU Games and Apps (2016 and beyond...)

Hi Everyone!

So I've been creating new content for the VMU for a while now, and thought some people here might be interested.

My plan is to create around 25 original games and apps and release them all on a compilation disc (as a free download and a limited run of pressed discs), but for the time being i'm experimenting with different techniques and getting used to coding for the VMU with updates of what I'm working on posted on my Instagram account @guacasaurus_mex

I also plan to release 1-2 games a year until then, the first of which is below... Flappy Bird for the Sega Dreamcast VMU!

An SD iso for use with Dreamshell can be found in the below link. Just download, put on SD card, load dreamshell, load the iso and once Speud's VMU Tool has booted up select 'Open CD'. I'm exploring other release options for those without SD card adapters. The game is 36 blocks total.

As a side note; as with most VMU games this doesn't work properly in an emulator so please use on an actuial VMU.

Enjoy :D

Very cool! Will the pressed disc version include a 100-pack of CR2032s?

Hi, this is really great. Even in the Dreamcast's hayday there were only a handful of VMU games made. If you make 25 you would almost double the amount of VMU games I know about

I can host the files over at Dreampipe.net and feature it on the main VMU page. Instead of putting it in a bunch of subpages of the archive. The VMU section is still a work in progress, I have to get a page that organizes all the files uploaded in the new uploader. But when that is done, you can just upload your finished games directly from your Dreamcast/VMU without the need of ISOs

But great work, it is cool to see someone doing this

Your game is featured at http://dreampipe.net/2016/03/28/flappy-bird/ and http://dreampipe.net/category/home/

I made a CDI from your SDISO for you also

You can see my guide for compiling your own images here viewtopic.php?f=52&t=8045

Great job, I tried it before and it's very high quality 8-)

Hahaha  that's a good idea. Or maybe instructions on how to do a AA battery mod.

I only tested on PlanetWeb 2.6, but for the most part yes. And DreamPi users automatically get pointed to Dreampipe upon connecting their PlanetWeb browser (not sure about 3.0 at the moment)
