I just won a Sega IR-7000 Communicator/PDA on eBay. Anyone ever heard of it? This is the first time I've ever seen one. I only bid on it because it was dirt cheap ($4.04 shipped).

I did find some information on it including a YouTube video. It's basically just a handheld electronic organizer but it has a couple other cool functions as well. One of which is the ability to send short-range wireless text messages to other IR-7000 devices. It also has a few built-in games which you can play solo or over the wireless IR with someone else. I plan on doing a video of it myself once I get it. I'll see if I can actually record the games which the video above doesn't show.

The PDA was from the Saturn era. There was a surge of interest in PDA's at the time and Sega introduced this PDA to compete with Tiger's Electronics PDA's for the teenager-targeted PDA market. Came out at the tail end of the fad though, so while it was still being marketed at full MSRP ($79.99 if my memory serves correctly), the biggest competetor, Tiger Electronics, PDA unit's were being clearenced out for around $20. I remember this because I ended up caving and buying Tiger's MLB-themed PDA on clearence at Kay Bee Toys.
