Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, we have a tie!

Also, I took a page from pcwzrd's book and decided to set up a Dreamcast at my PC. 8-)

Wow folks! Could this get any more exciting?! ;) That being said, I've decided to extend the competition for another week. I won't be able to start a new competition for at least a week anyway. I want to see that 43" XX time! :D

Sorry, wzrd. I guess none of us have had much time to keep trying.
The very few attempts I've made thus far have been futile.

Just for kicks, I captured the replay of my entry. I believe the key for me here was the infamous windmill turn (at 1:40). Typically I take that turn at about 178mph, but here I did it at 183mph. I assume it's because of the CPU cars and the drafting thing. Whatever it was I haven't been able to duplicate it...and any other good attempts get screwed up elsewhere. :( So no 43.xxx from me yet. Maybe give it another shot in a couple days...hopefully.

Yeah, that time's tough to beat. I'll give it another try too, but if it comes to it, maybe we could do some sort of tiebreaker.

That might be a good idea. I could maybe do a 3-day tie breaker on a completely different track after the competition ends.

Perhaps just for kicks, we could do it with one of the unlockable Pywackett Barchetta cars.

The regular PB is really easy to unlock, as you can see. The PB Super is a little more difficult, but I'm sure ChrisHa could pull it off if he hasn't already.

Of course, we'll both be giving the current criteria another try, so this should only be a last resort.

That's fine with me as long as you both agree to it. I'll be picking the track though.

To be honest, almost embarrassingly, I never unlocked anything in this game. But getting those PB cars does look easy. So sure. I'd be game for that, if necessary.

EDIT: Unlocked both PB cars. ...Still no 43.xxx :|

And that's it for the competition! Since there was a tie for first place, we will now have a 3-day tie-breaker! Here are the rules:

Mode: Single Race
Track: Desert City
Laps: 4
Entry Car: 20
Course Type: Normal

Car:
Car: Pywackett Barchetta
Transmission: Any
Tire: Any

Options (Game Config):
Difficulty: Normal

Unlike the main competition, the scores will not be posted on the site and there will be no countdown timer. The tiebreaker ends 10/22 @ 12:00PM Eastern. Good luck guys!

I wonder if ChrisHa is waiting for me to cast the first stone, or if he's just not had time. ;)

It's too bad the servers for this game aren't still up. That'd make for a good tiebreaker, if we could race online. Anyway, I've been doing some runs with the PB. Desert City is a tough track.

I actually saved a replay of my best Dinosaur Canyon run as well. The main differences are that I waited a lot longer for my takeoff, and I stayed on the inside of the turn rather than approaching from the outside.
