What's a Dreamcast?

Post by RavenholmDX »

Hey guys,

So as of a few days ago, I've decided to finally get a Dreamcast. I never owned one back in the day, but I played a few games on a friends, and it was always something that interested me, in particular the online functionality.

I've gone a bit crazy on the eBay purchases over the last couple of days. I've obtained the following:

Dreamcast with VGA mod and Region Free BIOS w/ 2 Controllers & VMU
4 Sealed Controllers
4 Sealed VMUs
4 Sealed Rumble Packs

The embarrassing part, is that I've picked up 71 PAL games so far. Lucked out on some job lots locally and on eBay, and luckily enough, not single duplicate.

I think I'm going to quieten down on the game purchases now that I'm a bit broke for the rest of the month, but next pay check I hope to pick up some of the more obscure accessories like a broadband adapter, steering wheel, fight stick etc. Maybe a spare DC or two if I can get them cheap.

Any where I can find a broadband adapter? :P

Anyway, I look forward to hanging around here :)

Welcome aboard, and congratulations on a wise choice!

I believe theres a seller on here who has BBA's (Dreamcastgaga i think?) or try eBay, they are fairly pricey, i paid just under $200 for mine.

Make sure you play Quake 3 online with us, its an absolute blast!
Current online Dreamcast games:
Quake 3 Arena - -ch0pzta>
Phantasy Star Online (Version 2) - ch0pzta - HUmar - YELLOWBOZE Lv60-odd

Yeah, I'm aware of the price unfortunately, if I can get one shipped for €140-ish I'd be happy. I'll reach out to Dreamcastgaga, thanks.

I just picked up Quake 3 so I'll definitely be doing that once I get everything set up!
