No, not best controllers for games. We're not picking out a controller; we're looking to squeeze as much use out of a given controller as possible.

If you find yourself with a certain type of controller, be it third-party, novelty, peripheral, etc., what would it be a bit of fun to use it for?

I'm not just talking about things with direct compatibility in mind. Are there things that just use the control stick/face buttons that benefit from the Fishing Rod? Are there things that just use the D-pad/A/B buttons that benefit from the StarFire LightBlaster? And what about a six-button controller, are there any games other than the obvious Capcom fighters that benefit from those? And what about those elusive maracas, can they be used on anything they weren't intended for at all? Etc.

I perfer playing THPS 1&2 with the ASCII FT pad as well as most games that favor digital D-pad controls over analog in general.

I've only ever played with the standard first party Dreamcast controller.

I'm gonna consider some of these above suggestions, especially playing non-fishing games with the Fishing rod.
