Absolutely, they're good but fiddly, lack of rear horizontal space led to me just going DCDigital

. I don’t have a DreamPi, but loading up deathmatch in 1 player tournament mode works fine for me…

Is there a Discord for the site?

I understand, thank you very much.
  • OatBobThu May 15, 2025 7:14 pm
If you flash the image, there's no need to go with out-of-box install. With the flashed image, it's pretty much plug-and-play.

Hi. I am starting to set up my online using the DreamPi method, and I wanted to know if I have to fully set up the RaspberryPi I'm using with the official OS before writing the DreamPi image, or if there's no need for the OS and I only write the image.

If no one beats me to it, I'll try and check that one on my gdemu later

Turning off blue retro seems to fix the hang up. Overall I'm thinking of ditching blueretro for usb4maple with Bluetooth dongle
  • al73rWed May 14, 2025 11:16 pm
I found that the blueretro will hang boot ups with dreamshell. It's odd because it's not all the time. But when it does hang it it can cause read errors off the SD card or on ide it won't load dreamshell. If I'm in retro dream and try to go to ds it can hang with just a black screen
  • al73rWed May 14, 2025 11:13 pm
Well I'm convinced that blueretro, usb4maple, and SD card mods are not compatible with one another
  • peanut_unlimitedWed May 14, 2025 10:29 pm
Lol I dont think thats me, is there another peanut running around?
  • al73rWed May 14, 2025 10:26 pm
peanut are you the dreamcastlive dude?!
  • peanut_unlimitedWed May 14, 2025 10:26 pm
Pick up a usb sd card reader/writer to write the dreampi image to an sd card. They are pretty cheap and found everywhere.
  • al73rWed May 14, 2025 10:00 pm
Anyone know the trick for blue retro and dreamshell vmu formatting? Doesn't seem to be doing the trick
  • LolcowCocaineWed May 14, 2025 9:30 pm
LVI finally coming in tomorrow!!! my only problem is idk how to flash dreampi to my rpi without an sd card slot on my pc.... gonna try to tediously do it on the rpi itself
  • al73rWed May 14, 2025 7:34 pm
darn.. not having any luck getting this to be recognized
  • al73rWed May 14, 2025 6:06 pm
I will give it a shot and use 5v rail instead of the 3.3v for the breakout board

  • al73rWed May 14, 2025 2:46 pm
For power, it's better to use a 5V to 3.3V DC-DC converter for the SD card, during Dreamcast and NAOMI systems place the highest load on the 3.3V rail.
  • al73rWed May 14, 2025 2:46 pm
ah a very important note on that 3.3v line
  • al73rWed May 14, 2025 2:33 pm
Which sucks cause now I don't have the fancy spring loaded card 😂
  • al73rWed May 14, 2025 2:32 pm
Sweet, I pinpointed my issue to the SD card breakout board. I used an SD adapter and no more issues

no it will be in the next version, but the new driver is not for the SD-serial adapter

Would love to test it out. I have some 32gb oni SD cards I will test. It's odd as it seems like the SD card works for a bit then it warms up and drops the SD card reader. I don't have the bottom heat shield on so I don't know if that is the root cause
