mega drive is getting some big homebrew love this year, the hardware was completely underutilized in some aspects

I haven't used my DreamPi in a while but I was going to hook it back up soon. But was there an arbitrary limit on how long the phone cable can be before it doesn't work? I vaguely recall that being a thing and wanna make sure I don't mount it too far away from my Dreamcast. (I am thinking of placing it in my homelab network rack)
