My CPU bottleneck issue has been resolved! My new PC specs are below.

Manufacturer: Me
Processor: AMD Athlon II X3 455 (OC @ 3.58GHz) NEW!
Memory: 8GB Kingston HyperX Blu Red Series DDR3 1600 NEW!
Hard Drive: 250GB WD SATA HDD + 1TB WD SATA HDD
Video Card: EVGA NVIDIA GTX 560 Ti 1024MB (Overclocked)
Monitor: ASUS MS236H 23" LCD Monitor
Sound Card: Realtek HD Audio (Onboard)
Speakers/Headphones: Logitech Z-4 Speakers
Keyboard: Microsoft Wired Keyboard 600
Mouse: Kensington K72356US Mouse-in-a-Box
Mouse Surface: A mousepad
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
Motherboard: MSI 760GM-P34(FX) NEW!
Computer Case: Diablotek FLY NEW!

As of this post, I haven't yet received the new parts. They should arrive in a couple days though. My new motherboard has a "core unlocking" feature that may be able to turn my triple core CPU into a quad core one. I may hold off on that though as I think I'll have more than enough CPU power as is. I've seen similar setups on YouTube running both Skyrim and Crysis 2 maxed out.

Nice.....I had an Athlon II X3 450 Rana a while back and it unlocked to a quad-core no problem, unfortunately it was based on an Athlon II X4 so no L3 cache. Hopefully you get a Phenom based chip that unlocks to quad-core with L3 cache! Best of luck.

That would be nice. If not, no big deal. It's still a very nice upgrade from what I had. The motherboard I purchased is very upgradeable as well so I can go all the way up to the top-of-the-line Phenom II X6 if I so desired.

Well, I got all the parts and put it all together today. It's running nicely but unfortunately the fourth core is faulty so I can't enable it. Oh well.

I've only tried out one game so far, Just Cause 2, but it runs perfectly at max settings. I've always had a problem running this game in the past so it's nice to finally be able to play it at a decent framerate. I'm currently downloading the Crysis 2 multiplayer demo to test out.

Edit: The Crysis 2 demo is a no go. It crashes when I try to load it for some reason. I did test some other games though. Here are my results:

Crysis Warhead: 40-50 FPS (Max Settings - 1080P)
Left 4 Dead 2: 60 FPS (Max Settings - 1080P)
Bulletstorm Demo: 50-60 FPS (Max Settings - 1080P)

Ah yes I had a Phenom II X6 1055T for some time, overclocked it to 3.5GHz on all six cores and it flew! Unbeatable performance for the price.
