I have tired playing Quake 3 with the regular DC controller can't get the hang on it.I already have a keyboard and notice there's a mouse available. Is the game better with a mouse and keyboard ?
I believe if you get a PS/2 adapter for PC mice and keyboards you can use an optical mouse actually. I think they might actually also work if you use a USB to PS/2 adapter as well with it with laser gaming mice and or mechanical keyboards.
Here is what one of the adapters looks like with an IBM keyboard and logitech PS/2 laser mouse.
I do own an official Dreamcast mouse however, and meh, it is nothing like modern optical mice but it gets the job done way better than the official controller for FPS games.
That also makes me think about something else. With Retro-Bit updating Dreamcast controllers with bluetooth, why not have them also make modern laser mice for Dreamcast as well?
I think we could maybe petition them to do that as well as making new console cases in custom colors with official Sega branding on it.

the only reason its laggy (most of the time) is because the rollers are dirty. when they're clean it performs as well as laser mouse, problem is it has to be cleaned every 2-3 weeks
