i just got an older HD tv for my games. i needed one that had a CRT for my old school light gun games and i also wanted 480p for my Dreamcast VGA cable. the TV has all of that with the help of a few adapters. the trouble is that the tv only has component inputs. i already found a component to VGA adapter. so all that is left is to find a way to get my 360 to use the 1080i resolution that the TV supports.
now what i need to know is what is the best way to do this? can i get 1080i out of the components via the normal port on the 360? or do i have to get some kind of HDMI adapter to convert the signal into this TV's component input?
edit
after a little bit of research it looks like i can use the normal AV port with an xbox 360 component cable. i think the HDMI port is for 1080p? my TV only goes to 1080i, so i don't think i have a need for a HDMI cable?
