just wanted to vent...
i hate fixing ps2's.
the optical drives are absolute garbage imo.
there are too many tiny fragile ribbon cables.
the dvd laser lens is a pos.

everytime i fix these ps2 consoles i have to spend hours.
the ps2 system is great and offers so many games.
but, damn it has to be the cheapest quality parts ever.

My PS2 is a 50001 which is supposedly more reliable than the first batch. No issues with it.

If it's a fat PS2 and not a slim, you can just use a softmod to load games from a hard drive and it works great. So even if it has an unfixable dead laser, it's still not a total loss.

I nabbed a 39001 but just what does the "/N" mean?

$50 with beat-up box but absolutely everything I threw @ it 200%. But CDs (the blue ones and most especially Ridge Racer 5) scare the fuck out of me!

I got my PS2 for free from my cousin a few years ago, he had 3 of them from his friends getting bored of them and he never played one, so he gave one to me.

Worked pretty well, but when I removed the network adapter to install a hard drive, I found a sock stuffed in where the hard drive space.

My laser has been dead for tears just play off of a hdd.
