Pretty much.

crikey, and I thought we were the ones who always got shafted on value for money in the UK! the 500mb I get pretty much comes free/as standard. It probably wouldn't cost much more than an extra fiver a month to get unlimited!

I bought the Wi-Fi model. These things are cheap right now! Due to a lack of a must have game people are dumping the systems. Was chatting with the manager of a local GameStop (video game store chain) just a couple of weeks ago and he told me that their corporate is regarding the Vita as a major flop. Average time of ownership before the original purchaser sells or trades-in a Vita is three weeks!

Well, my opinion on the GameStop manager's info was that if it were true then the used market must be flooded with them. well... IT IS! I scored a Wi-Fi PSP not two days later complete with all the original packaging, 4GB memory card, and Asphalt Injection game for only $200. Craigslist stays loaded up with Vita's, I've seen them listed for as little as $180 with games, but most people just try to dump them at $200.

If you've got $200 to blow, hunt yourself a good used Vita. Well worth the price and the used market price is bound to increase once a must have title gets released.

Two years later....

Seriously, if you have to pick between buying a 3DS and a Vita, definitely buy the Vita. The library exists now, good games are available with more on the horizon.

If you can hunt down an OLED model Vita, buy it! In a side by side comparisson the OLED screen is mind blowingly better looking that the revised Vita, which has an LCD screen. And if hand held gaming isn't your thing, Sony is releasing the VitaTV, a console version of the Vita with HDMI output, stateside in October at your choice of $100 without a controller (uses PS3 and PS4 controllers) or $130 with controller. It's an awesome time to buy Vita as it's future is very bright.

Still waiting for dedicated CFW for non-physical releases and decent PS1 emulation.

Any of that out yet?...
