Saturn Netlink

Post by TripMercy »

Check out www.saturnleague.com for a community of people who still participate in playing netlink games. I'm one of them, and I can tell you it's a TON of fun. There are 5 games you can play:

Duke Nukem 3D (FPS)
Saturn Bomberman (not sure which genre to call it)
Virtua On (Fighting)
Sega Rally (Racing)
Daytona USA (Racing)

All you need is a Saturn, a Netlink, and an active analog phone line (long distance recommended).

The Saturn Netlink was launched in December 1995 in Japan and in August 1997 in the US. If you live outside of Japan, you're pretty much limited in which games work with it.

Saturn Bomberman is probably the only game I remember that worked quite well with the service.

i dont think that you have seen the price of Daytona USA Netlink Edition? a cheap copy would be around $300.

Or if your understanding of the cost, possibly just a few $ on a CD-R. I don't like the idea of playing pirated games, but when it comes to something as elusive as that title, I don't mind making a backup of it for play.

I have my netlink set up, but my phone line has been down for a bit. I can always take it to a friends house and play, so if anyone has DIRE URGES to play netlink, let me know!

I have access to all the games, but prefer bomberman... which I will own you all at.
