Is there a Dreamcast version of Rayam 3?

Post by Sisee »

The title says it all really.

I know Rayman 2 got a Dreamcast version, according to Wikipedia that version is supposedly the 'best'; as stated by the designer...
I think that statement is debatable myself, and down to personal tastes.

Anyway...

According to the Wikipedia page for Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc... there is supposedly a Dreamcast version.
Although I am aware Wikipedia is not always a reliable source of factual information, it usually does have some substance to it's articles.
But, I am curious as the person who authored the information not only added unique dates to the release data along with adding Dreamcast to the released platform, but also injected the Dreamcast version into the blurb about the games releases too.

So, is there a Dreamcast version of Rayman 3, or has someone edited the Wikipedia page with wrong information.

I'm only asking here because I am curious if there is a 'lost' version of a Dreamcast game out there that could be brought back to the masses.
If not, and the Wikipedia editor is either mistaken or a trolling imbecile, then my investigation ends here.
Prepare for trouble...

Rayman 3 did not get released for dreamcast. In fact, I think it didn't come out for anything until well after the dreamcast was discontinued and unsupported.

If you like Rayman 2, you should play Evil Twin on dreamcast. It was also a ubisoft 3d platform game and I think it used the same graphics engine as Rayman and has a similar European feel.

Dreamcast Games you play Online: I haven't played any dreamcast games online yet.
But I'm planning to do so soon.

I think I remember hearing, a dreamcast version was actually cancelled. If there is an incomplete, or close to complete playable version of the game out there, on some dev kit or disc, that would be a cool find.

It was planned for the DC & PS2, then the DC died & it came out on everything else. Here’s an old 1998 article about it
