Im completely new to arcade sticks, and I was just wondering, do they only make replacement/upgraded buttons in a certain size? Isnt there a variety of sizes? Or is it just that the sanwa parts are only in one size and considered the best , so people usually just do sanwa upgrade ,requiring drilling for larger holes?

Basically what im asking is, can you not buy 'drop in' replacement buttons of a higher quality than the standard ones?

Look at this page: https://arcadeshock.com/collections/pushbuttons

Sanwa is considered to top brand for arcade parts. You will see that sanwa buttons come in 24mm and 30 mm sizes. Other brands make 28mm buttons as well. https://quarterless.com/products/28mm-led-buttons

Arcade buttons can be concave (dented middle) or convex (raised middle). Suzo Happ and Seimitsu are also big brand names. Japanese arcade and most home console arcade sticks use convex sanwa or sanwa clone buttons. American arcades used Suzo Happ stick and with concave button.

you can do a drop in for buttons but you'll need to get rid of the faceplate. you can put in a plexi one from focus attack https://focusattack.com/search.php?sear ... =dreamcast which will be cut for 30 mm button. getting buttons to fit the DC stick faceplate without any modding won't be an easy task as they're considered non standard sizes. can't rem if they're 28 or 29mm.

Do you have a psd overlay for the DC stick? I guess it doesn't really matter as long as you have the right dimensions. If I see any good pics I'll link them.

Photoshop overlay file. Usually looks like the outline of your controller. But it doesn't matter if your have the right dimensions. You just print to size.

If you're going the plexi route, just remember not to over tighten the screws when screwing it down. go slowly, as I found that 1 of my corner holes had a crack coming from it as I'd slightly overtightened the screw.
