Update on my HDMI adapter: Not gonna happen. I had some persistent audio issues with two adapters I put together and I can't figure it out. That coupled with the fact that they're just very difficult and time-consuming to put together, it just isn't worth it. I guess that leaves Akura as the only game in town now. Sorry guys. :(

maybe about 1/2 of the time I turn on my DC/TV/and Atlona... it gets the 480P signal a bit off... i.e. it stretches the image too narrow between the actual 4x3 bars of the TV. I have to unplug the Atlona (while the DC is running) and plug it back in. Then usually it properly stretches it to the correct 4x3 aspect.

Obviously its an Atlona scaler/timing thing... but for what ever reason it too thinks the input is a bit off then a full 640x480 or 720x480 pixel map. Maybe this is something the eventual 'ultra HDMI' style board for the DC will fix, since its pulling digital video direct from the board.

Interesting that you mention this unplugging and plugin in fix.

I use an inexpensive DC vga cable and vga to hdmi converter

Cable: Tomee Sega VGA HD Cable with RCA Sound Adapter - Dreamcast https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HPU96FI/re ... Pyb8WYCZYX

Converter: ESYNiC VGA to HDMi Converter Box 1080P VGA to HDMi HD HDTV Video Converter Adapter with RCA Phono Stereo Audio for PC HDTV SKY https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KXTXPIC/re ... PybYTCJ9FQ

I have he option of going directly (via HDMI) into my Samsung 60" LED TV, or I can pass the HDMI signal through my Marantz audio receiver.

Either way, the D.C. Will always start off center. If I power cycle the TV or the Marantz or even the D.C., it's still stays off-center.

The only fix is to unplug the VGA cable from the back of the D.C. And then plug it back in. Then, the picture is centered and everything works perfectly after that.

That makes me think it's the D.C. Getting confused upon initial video output choice.

Hhmmm

Also, I have noticed that when i go through my Marantz, the screen is scaled perfectly and when I go directly Into the Samsung, there's some overscan. I'll have to mess with the aspect ratio (zoom, just fit, 16:9, etc) next time I hook it hat way.

Thanks,

Matt.
