The two biggest things that keep me coming back are the fun, challenging (at least for me at my low level) gameplay and the welcoming attitude of the community. I bought a Dreamcast in 2000 or 2001 but never connected it to the Internet even though we had dial-up service in those days. I built a DreamPi at some point in the third quarter of last year and started with PSO. Even just chatting with other players in the lobby is a lot of fun. I don't have a nostalgic love for the game as I'd never played it until last year but I feel that it holds up pretty well. If it played a little faster and the controls felt a little better you could mistake it for a modern game (albeit with dated graphics).

I just started playing Episode 2 on my og Xbox, and I must say I'm pleasantly surprised. It seems to run a tad smoother than the first one and looks really nice through my component cable. So far it appears they haven't changed the formula, and I'm getting a Panzer Dragoon vibe from the first level, which is a good thing...

I enjoyed the new levels in the game. Shame the xbox version has not been brought back online

I'm pretty sure that'll happen eventually, there's already a ton of games back online through xlink kai

Episode I & II plays effectively the same as the Dreamcast version until you reach Ultimate, at which point the meta becomes completely different.
