Q3A Dreamcast Source Code?

Not sure if this is the right section so I apologise in advance.

Does anyone know if Q3A’s source code for the DC was ever released? I did some research dating back to 2005, wherevy it was implied you could get access to the source code if you bought a license.

Reason I ask is because I was wondering if there was a was a way to release 1.32 for Q3A. I assume this would be the route of a homebrew release as patching the official release is likely impossible.

Failing that, would a port of Q3A to the Dreamcast from scratch be possible? I came across a homebrew port of Q3aa to the original Xbox, which is running 1.32, cross platform with PC and requires an original PC CD key. Would a similar DC conversion using the regular Q3A source code in that case be possible?

I apologise if these are silly questions as I have no experience in coding whatsoever, though I am interested to see if the above could be done.

of course it can be done. ID ported it, so it's obviously doable. but john carmack is an absolute genius so it would probably be a large undertaking to get it on par with ID's release, and KOS isn't exactly as optimized as the official katana libraries. if it was done once it can be done again

shuouma is in the process of porting quakeworld (quake1 optimized by Id for dialup modems). from what i've seen it looks really amazing and you might be a lot more pleased with QW than if somebody re-ported q3
