what we know so far...or what we can assume based on research :)

The bleem beta tester that more than likely leaked the bleem betas went by the name of XeroX.
The timeline according to Rod Maher's information syncs up with the screenshot posted of the beta build from 5/12/2000.
Even hinting about the software to the public by posting a screenshot of an internal beta would break nda terms.
This is what a leaker would do!

The original "group" that first released the cracked bleem beta blue isos was Revolution Gamers & the Cross Figure Group & u2k.
mkisofs timestamps are all the same mar 9 02:19:20 2003, each version uses the bleem beta ip.bin
Group is in quotes because as of yet no info about this group has been found outside of the cracked bleem beta release.
Focusing on scene releases from 1999-2005 and nothing found so far.

As for finding who cracked the bleem beta blue bin?
We will probably never know.
But, by knowing the source of the original group that first released the cracked bleemcast beta isos..
It might help lead us to finding out who cracked the blue beta. ;)

Conspiracy theory #1:
Were the Revolution Gamers & the Cross Figure Group & u2k even a real group? or created for this one and only release?

Conspiracy theory #2:
Was the "leak" intentional? This we will never know. But, the theory is that the leak might have been intentional to allow bleem! to test how good their encryption was at the time.

Conspiracy theory #3:
There are differences in the bleem beta colors and they were used for testing different regions.

Also i posted questions to Retro Hour Reflections..

Thank you Retro Hour Reflection. I have a few questions for Randy Linden. Are all of the bleem beta colors the same build (blue, green, orange, purple, yellow)? Was each bleem beta color locked to a specific color dreamcast. If so why? Will we ever see the e3 beta or any other bleemcast betas? Can you share any technical information about bleemcast with the dreamcast community? Thank you for creating the legendary Bleem! software.

Maybe we will get a response?

http://forum.redump.org/topic/21597/how ... ast-discs/

Code: Select all

The layout seems to be identical for all 3 discs:
0-301 - Session 1 (audio track, all zeroes)
302-11566 - Session 1 lead-out/ Session 2 lead-in? (all readable sectors are zeroes)
11567-11701 - Pregap? (mixed data/audio)
11702-77006 - Session 2 (data track with unreadable rings / error sectors)

So the google source was right, there is some data between the 2 sessions. This data is included separately for now.
It probably needs to be added to the image to get a working backup. Besides inserting the data at offset 710304 of the .img and 28992 of the .sub, this also means that the .ccd needs to be hacked/modified in some way. Hopefully someone (sarami?) knows how to do this.

ps. It would be nice also if someone could test the normal/unmodified dumps on a real console to see what happens.

Keep in mind while doing this research about bleemcast, I will never dox.
When delving into this you can easily stumble upon public info that can reveal personal details.
Out of respect, all info posted in this thread will honor anonymity.
Besides that is the right thing to do.

So, it looks like XeroX was involved in the PSX Dev community.
Even receiving a mention in the PsxDev FAQ.

So, Xerox, a copier machine, made those bleem! leaked copies?

I should have known!

At least it was not HP, Canon, Epson, Brother, Lexmark, or Dell.

The bleemcast beta leaker went by the name of XeroX.
The revolution gamers & the cross figure group & u2k made the first bleemcast beta isos.

I wish RR R4 was legit released for Bleem. GT2 is the better game for sure though so I know why they went with that game instead.
