Anyone out there following these open source ODE projects?

I seen the Ice one posted over at reddit but didn't really think much of it as we already have a really great $40 ODE now. If somebody can produce these things for just as cheaply with much better features then sure, but looking at it the other day it needed a pricey board if I recall correctly didn't it?
