I'm not in a great position to do this because I've already made some other modifications to my 32MB Dreamcast. I need to put together a fresh 32MB motherboard before I can do anything scientific. I've mostly been using my 32MB Dreamcast with my ScummVM backend which runs fine and takes advantage of the upper 16MB of RAM.

But I grabbed a stack from my collection and tried each one out for 2-3 minutes. Here are the results (all NTSC-U unless otherwise noted):

No problems:
Shenmue
Virtua Tennis
Sturmwind
Dead or Alive 2 (NTSC-J)
Soul Calibur
Jet Grind Radio
Seaman
The Typing of the Dead

Problems:
Space Channel 5: plays fine, but instead of FMV background, just a black plane
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater: displays trademark screen (Tony Hawk's, not the SEGA one) and hangs there
NFL 2K1: blank screen, doesn't run

I wonder if there's some common FMV code that isn't working.

No theories, but an observation: one thing that we know will crash a 32MB Dreamcast, but not a 16MB Dreamcast, is setting the MCR's AMX bits to 4.

Which other parts would need to be upgraded in order to turn it into a NAOMI board?

I'm glad I can remember my account password

Because my friend is very interested in this project, he made a set of 32M version of dreamcast, he showed me to study kof98 and see if it can adapt to the 32M version of the game, so this version was born

First of all, note that this is a cdi image, which can be burned to run on the host, or run on gdemu or mode, but it can only run on dreamcast with 32M version of memory

the current bios seems to have some problems. When playing the sfd animation file, it will restart with a black screen. I hope someone can fix this bug in the future so that it can be fully compatible with the original game.

Modify the description:

Part of the game files are stored in the memory, and the game runs faster (it will be obvious if it is read by CD)

I won’t talk about some minor changes.

Welcome to test

BIOS:jc-v1.032-AltIntro-32MB.bin

Wow this is great news yzb! Was hoping to hear from you on your thoughts about what was possible with this mod. Glad to see other games can be patched for it! What are your thoughts about Windows CE games? Surely those are the best candidates for this mod since they already require so much overhead because of the OS running in background in addition to the games. So they take a huge hit to performance. Half-Life and many other games could benefit from being patched, especially Sega Rally 2!

Half-Life would be a good candidate. I remember running out of memory with earlier Counter-Strike mods. I would like to see it with the RAM expansion. I like how this would mean that certain releases could be made and converted to/from 16 MB to 32 MB.

Yep, also potentially more detailed Half-Life mods as well!

It is more difficult to modify the wince game, so far I haven't successfully modified the wince game

The video you want is here, the following is the test done with the CD-ROM drive

1 The original game has not been modified, it is suitable for dreamcast with 16M memory

2 32M dreamcast is used, and the game has been modified and optimized a lot

3 Use gdemu to read the original gdi, 4Gsdhc memory card

4 Use gdemu to read 32M memory version of gdi, 4Gsdhc memory card

About Obscuregamers site, is there not a check mark box? Also do you have any web browser plugins that disable ads that may be blocking the CAPTCHA?

12.66 USD for two IS42S32800J-6TLs. A lot cheaper than the NAOMI I was considering.

have the memory link to buy?
