Do you play in 4:3 or 16:9

A general question. It might be useful for future DC home brew developers to know. I personally always play on a widescreen trinitron in 16:9. I’d be curious to know what others prefer.

A compromise for future home brew could be to design the graphics to be in the correct proportions at an aspect ratio of 14:9 which is in between 16:9 and 4:3. It won’t look overly screwed in either modes.

I always play in the original aspect ratio as designed/intended, so 4:3, unless a game supports widescreen.

You always stretch the image?

I'm the same as DCGX and always play in the original aspect ratio.

I do the same for TV and Films, if it's being broadcast incorrectly stretched I will adjust my TV accordingly.

B00BTUBE MASTER RACE

Although native 16:9 in retro/classic/aged games never did much for me, what, see a couple more hairs? And everything in-between gets squished skinnier more height

Obviously I've tried numerous times I don't get it lol unless see extraordinary example I pass

Until the HDMI era the seventh-generation of consoles I don't see 16:9 doing much to me face except ta miss 4:3

EDIT: PSO1 does dazzle me when I used to flatty LCD display but when acquired a CRT it's a no brainer 4:3>16:9

Personally

4:3 for me.
But I don't mind a game, with the option to change to 16:9 though.

4:3 on just about every display type (Crt TV, CRT Monitor, Modern LCD/LED display).
The ONLY exception to the rule is when hooked up to widscreen monitor AND playing a game with the inclusion of anamorphic widescreen support like TXR2 and Rayman 2.
It's STILL Thinking Dreamcast Channel
