I LOVE TO BE THE MAD MAN To take all the rosters

give them all a roster of consisting players with just Numbers and No Names just like NCAA and blender up all the starting default rosters. So the idea with playing with out of date rosters will be no bother.

you can't be serious?
how do you make the image correct size for cd-r and not modify any lba at all plus get the 2nd session start at 300,000 lba range?
then make all of this boot?
if you follow the way echelon made the iso it will be over 1gb in size. (first session uses same data that is in 2nd session)
can you replicate what echelon did?

1st_read.bin is scrambled or something? 44 lba?
appears these files modified based on timestamp? (have not compared yet) (1st_read.bin, port.dat, faces.dat, teams.dat, teams.dir, audio.dir, char.dir, players.dir)
2nd session start @ 356637 lba.
1st session same data as 2nd session
iso size 770mb

I'm wondering if that structure can be created using BootDreams, Data/Data, Alcohol 120%.

Then mount image and convert to CDI with DiscJuggler.

It really does look like they burned 2 sessions using CDRWIN.

odd that the echelon txt file that is on the nfl2k1 cdi has no mention of selfboot.
if any1 gets any of the 2k games working using boot dreams let me know.
afaik some of the prototype 2k games (nba, nfl) (not using 1st_read) you can get to boot but after 2k intro they goto black screen.
you might have to load other bin and not 1st_read
i think there is something that we are missing.

1st_read bin is definitely encrypted or scrambled w/e lol.

what is blowfish.bin? is that encryption?
1st_read is 7.74mb.
gnfl2k1.bin is the actual game bin (at least on prototypes this is the bin that will boot, then black screen)
how can you edit lba if file is encrypted?
why would echelon create 2nd session @ 356637 lba?
why would they mirror 2nd session as the first?
idk way more questions than answers.
maybe we can work together and figure this bs out?

- I'm guessing users were burning coasters, so Echelon made a workaround (data/data CDI). I'd like to see something bootable for GDEMU and not worry about burned CD's.

A) Self-Boot Solution

1. Run CDIRIP on the DiscJuggler image with the flags /iso and
/full.

2. Goto CDRWIN's Tools Menu, Select Record ISO9660 Image. Choose
the 1st Session as your ISO image, select the options:
CDROM-XA, MODE2, Open New Session, Finalize Close/Session.

3. Burn this session off at your desired speed.

4. Goto CDRWIN's Tools Menu, Select Record ISO9660 Image. Choose
the 2nd Session as your ISO image, select the options:
CDROM-XA, MODE2, Finalize/Close Session.

B) CD-Loader Solution

1. Run CDIRIP on the DiscJuggler image with the flags /iso and
/full.

2. Goto CDRWIN's Tools Menu, Select Record ISO9660 Image, Choose
the 1st Session as your ISO image, Select the options:
CDROM, MODE1, and Finalize/Close Session.

3. Burn it off and load up in your CD-Loader.

Alternate method: Use CDmage and extract all files from the
1st session, then master them with your favorite data mastering
program as MODE1.

Of course if you have a decent burner that fully supports
DiscJuggler, you don't have to worry about any of the above, and
you can just burn off the self-booting DiscJuggler image."

i'm sure you could mod a .gdi etc and skip all of this but i would like to know how the selfboot was made and howto recreate it. then eventually make mods for the 2k games. it is odd for sure. hopefully we eventually figure it out.

I bet that blowfish is part of their 'on the fly' compression/decompression technology they invented.

How do dumps of the TOSEC GDI and Echelon CDI compare?
