Has there ever been evidence regarding its existence? Outside of just words in a magazine or website?

It would be absolutely awesome to see Turok 2 running on Dreamcast but... it might be just a disc with promo/press assets or game dev relevant data, I'm afraid. But fingers are crossed!

Aye, it might be just a few assets or something very, very early. As for evidence of anything of substance prior to this GDI - I don't think there's been anything. A few magazine mentions of a port circa 1999 and that was it. I don't think there was any supporting images shared of the game running in any way shape or form on Dreamcast at the time. If we get a bootable very early build from the dump I think we'll be all pleasantly surprised. Anything beyond that looks very unlikely but there's always a chance :p

I had spoken with the lead programmer for the N64 version of Turok back in 2019 and he never heard any mention of a Dreamcast port. It seems likely that it was a false rumor as he was at Acclaim until 2000 and the IGN article that claimed they were porting the game was from 1998. It's possible some execs had the idea of porting it but nothing ever came of it.
I’m not aware of Turok2 (or any of the Tuork games) ever being converted to the Dreamcast which is probably why there was silence afterwards. The only conversion I was aware of after development was to the PC - I’d never seen any development of the game running on Dreamcast during my time at Acclaim I’m afraid.
BTW, the "silence afterwards" part is referring to the IGN article.

Hard4games has a discord maybe you could ask tony if it’s actually gdi disc or not, he did say he planned on dumping all them very soon in the video but hard4games is very Nintendo focused so it might be good to reach out
