4x4 Evolution Update Project

Been on a one man mission to update most of the 4x4 Evolution games to some extent, and decided to challenge myself by tackling the same fixes and then some for the Dreamcast.

http://sites.google.com/site/4x4evoupdates/

Major changes:
-Master server lookup points to dctalk.no-ip.com
-Updated or corrected the specs of almost every stock vehicle in game.
-Added sales options for Jeep and Land Rover. (No land rovers added)
-Added Jeeps from Evo 2. Conversion done by Tyler Durden in 2002

Nice stuff, I will be downloading and trying this out later. So you were able to successfully add PC vehicle models to the Dreamcast? That's pretty cool. I'm interested to see what comes next. And thanks for linking to our master list, the more the merrier! :)

It would appear you can load any PC based truck model for the most part (I'd imagine there is a polygon limit due to hardware limitations. However there are a lot of differences, tracks for instance have been difficult to add to say the least. Have a few more ideas to try but I'm rapidly running out of things to try.

Looks like I broke a few of the series races by mistake (Technically Chevrolet, and GMC no longer exist in the executable) but I was planning on adding some of the series races from Evo 2 in anyways. And re-enable 44" tires as well, possibly bump up starting cash a bit.

Project has definitely grown to be a lot more than expected, if anyone has some lte tracks they want included on CD this next release let me know. Otherwise they will just be of my choosing.

Can finally generate full track data, what does this mean you might ask? It means full track support. I'm still working on an Evo2 PC patch, but after that I'll be refocusing on adding some Evo2 type features in to the DC version. Might be a month or two depending if I can get some form of error reporting.

If someone happens to have a working devkit near Charleston, SC it would be quite beneficial. Also noticed the computer I was seeding the torrent on went down. Should have this fixed by the weekend.

My understanding is that either the PC version or the DC version has the BBA code in it. If it is on the DC disc, it is not made accessible to the DC, but I believe I was told it was on the PC version kind of like the PSO PC disc which has the DC language files but were not made accessible by "normal" means if you were to load it on your PC.

THIS. Even more so with me getting a BBA in the near future.

Unfortunately, this is info someone told me a long while ago, but I think he said it was either Max Pool or 4x4, but I do not think it was Max Pool. I believe you'd have to rip both the PC and the DC versions of the game to find out. I wish I knew for sure.
