Scratched discs

Just wondering how tolerant dreamcast games are to being buffed? I have a couple that I won't bother with but have a couple that try to play

As long as you use a soft cloth and the polishing paste from a CD repair kit, you may be able to revive some damaged discs by buffing from the center of the disc straight out to the edge (not in circles). The protective layer over a CD-ROM (and thus a GD-ROM) isn't that thick, though, so if you have really deep scratches, commercial resurfacing may be the only way to make the disc readable again.

I've used Novus scratch remover on numerous discs that wouldn't boot and most of them worked perfectly afterwards! Unlike some other scratch removers it actually makes the discs look better too which is a bonus.

Been eyeballing that one for a while now, but didn't really know what to think of it. Does it actually make the disc look like new, or can you still see it has been resurfaced as is sometimes the case even with expensive professional machines? I'm talking about them circular micro-scratches when you hold the disc agains the light at a certain angle...

Try to put yourself in the shoes of a very anal person when judging the resurface job. Cause that's how I will look at them. Like the anal mofo that I am... lol

Yes i use the machine for my business They say to do a cd to get the hang of it but the disk turns out great when u get the hang off it. I upgraded to a 1,000.00 machine that uses walter but u can only get it if u have a tax number for a business. i had the jfj for 2 years

Still not sure what your answer to my question is. So does it still have faint circular scratches when you hold it against the light, or does it really give you a perfect mirror finish? Sorry for asking again, but I don't want to spend that kind of money on something without knowing if I will actually be satisfied with it...

thats ok sorry lol a mirror finish but it take some time to get the hang of it its worth it
