Pointers? Do's and don'ts when cleaning discs with this machine?...

the only thing i can say is read the book that comes with it and trial and error they say to practice on cds first on tell u get the hang of it good luck ( u wont be disaponted) ;)

Just an update my sega bass fishing disc came up very well but still won't boot. I will try another disc that is scratched and see if I have better luck.

In general, DVD discs are pretty durable, but sometimes they will inevitably be scratched because of improper preservation. Several methods to repair scratched DVD.Rip Scratched DVD(http://www.videoconverterfactory.com/ti ... d-dvd.html) Using a microfiber cloth, rub the alcohol solution onto the DVD. Do not wipe in circles. You can polish the scratched DVD with vaseline, Windex, peanut oil or baking soda toothpaste to smooth the surface.

In the 90s, a buddy of mine used a spray which supposedly lets plants leaves shine more with much success on PC CDROMs...
