I can design and build some Dreamcast serial cables if you guys need them. Like has been mentioned, you don't really make money from these small projects. It's really to help the retro community. And I enjoy making things that aren't available or hard to get. Especially when people are being gouged on eBay for them.

Don't really want to duplicate efforts if someone is already building them, which I see above. However want to make sure they're really coming.

Let me know what people think. Would take me about 2-3 days to design the connectors. Then about 2 weeks for an initial print and probably some updates. Could have initial cables probably in about 1-2 months. I would need to buy 2 Dreamcast consoles and 2 player games for testing. Takes me 65 minutes to build a VB cable and the Dreamcast one looks about the same.

Hey Kevin! Welcome to dctalk boards! I have received a prototype build from Pcwiz on here. However Id be willing to buy one of yours as well due to your amazing build quality. I'm not fully sure where PC is on making his version "mainstream" but I for one would appreciate the extra options out there for such a rare cable. I hope others agree :)

Update: I think I've gotten the hang of making the cables now. I've streamlined the process and made some little improvements. What I'm going to do is a limited test run of production cables. I'll sell these first three for $29.99 each with free shipping within the US (cables after these first three will be $39.99). The first three to respond will get them. You can just post here if interested and I'll send you a PM when I have your cable ready.

Edit: The three cable test run is sold out. I'll make another post when I have more.

Interested. Payment would be Friday next week Though, if that's Ok? If not I'll have to go for the more expensive cable later.

MentholMoose wrote:Hi, US VOOT does support the link cable, however, the option is hidden in the menu by default. It will be shown if you press L+R+A+Start at the title screen.

That's very useful advice about the US's Cyber Troopers Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram. Thanks, Mr. Moose!

I wonder if the same applies to the EU VOOT?
