Dreampipe.net

I made a thread on this awhile ago. But it's been a long work in progress really and I think now it's mostly complete

Dreampipe is a website that enables all of the functions of the Dreamcast web browser in one website. But it's also a platform for a Dreamcast online community. Instead of playing an online game, you can hangout here using your browser disc

Main portal. Various news postings of new developments, major site updates, etc. Videos and music playable from Dreamcast. VMU archive and uploader. Dreamcast Now intergration
Image

Dreamcast bulletin. Fully featured web bulletin designed and optimized for Dreamcast. Has a few widgets like scrolling vmu text for thread/topic being viewed

IRC server. Dreampipes own dedicated IRC server. Works flawlessly on Planetweb and Dream Passport. pwchat://23.92.76.195:6667/#dreamcast on planetweb or 23.92.76.195:6667 on Dream Passport

Myself and a few others have been working on getting all of the games with in-game web browsing redirected there to use all that stuff in-game

The BB also handles private messaging from the Dreamcast e-mail client. If you setup using the instructions linked below, with a dedicated gmail account, you can use the Dreamcast e-mail client as a private messenger. You can even add other people to an address book

Also hosted is a bunch of Dreamcast servers. I'm working on Planetring but having issues with the port bindings and the patcher disc

Hosted is:
Quake 3
Maximum Pool. The save enables connection to both Dreampipe Pool Hall and the Dreamcast-Talk server
Toy Racer
Planetring soon

If a bunch of people join and start using it from console regularly, submiting their own VMU stuff, videos etc. It could be really cool

What does everyone think?

The amount of support I have for Dreampipe from day one.

The only two subjection I have are the ability to allow donations in any kind of way, and to have the search engine changed from Bing to Google.

I visit the site every few days for a look.

My -only- criticism is that i find the layout of the BB very confusing. Some of you may have no dramas with it but i get a headache every time i try to work it out lol

There's not much I can do about the layout right now. MiniBB was the only forum software I can across that worked well on Dreamcast

If a lot of people used the BB, irc, contributed to main site etc, and I mean like 200+ regular people. That could be really amazing. Maybe even better than when Sega had something like this. I don't want to take money donations from anyone. Just donate your time by being active and trying to get others to join in

That wouldn't have been that hard saying that the Saturn's Planet Web CD is practically the same but it uses older versions of various plugins and is basically the same as the Planet Web v1 that the Dreamcast got considering that technology did not update that fat at the time. I do not have a Saturn model so I can't test that one for you, but that is all I can comment about that.

I gave that a shot last night and I will say that I'm running windows 7 and none of the compatibility settings worked. It said something along the lines that the target OS is not compatible. Sadly I have long moved on from Windows XP so I can not get this to run.
