So I finally got my starlink kit in this morning. Was on the waiting list since March of 2021. I have connected it and honestly so far I'm seeing speeds minimum 5 times faster than my current dsl setup. Latency is no worse than my dsl either from what i can tell.
Only issue is...it will not work with dreamcast in terms of portforwarding and dmz due to having a global ip address (CGNAT). So at least for right now i am going to keep my dsl connection for the dreamcast...yes its that important to me...lol...but my dc connecction should be much faster since that connection wont be used for anything else other than maybe ps2 and wii/ds/psp.....basically i am gonna try to get rid of my landline phone which should cut down my dsl bill a bit...then maybe get rid of a couple of streaming services i use to offset some of that cost too
but wow my son did a speed test on his pc earlier today and it showed 110mbps...unbelievable...compared to the 6 mbps max connetion i have with dsl
i may in the future try to get my own router to replace the starlink one so i can adjust network features...and maybe look at a VPN in order to port forward....and if anybody else has any suggestions let me know
thanks guys

Nice! at least you should be able to play games that doesn't need DMZ with that connection, quake nights should be much better now.

I hear you can use a vpn like ExpressVpn for example to get a publicly routeabpe address that you'll be able to dmz.ncman071 wrote:So I finally got my starlink kit in this morning.
