The problem? An ancient DreamPi installation. After reinstalling my DreamPi with the latest DreamPi 1.9 DLE Speed Devils Online works flawlessly

Had an ancient PI as well and flashed it yesterday to v1.9. I SSHed into the PI to verify the version.

Unfortunately, creating a new user still hangs for me. When I validate my inputs a message pops up after 10s saying "Checking Info, please wait" and then nothing happens. Can only press B which gives me a "Router timed out" message. This is on the PAL version.

I do own a US copy as well and tried it, but there the connection step already fails with some "busy server" message. Any idea what I am missing? I'm on original hardware.

I had that exact issue, it was a DNS problem with my router.

Seems if I use my Routers DNS all that works is PSO, if I over ride it with Googles DNS, every dreamcast game works.

Weird, but its what works for me and you're having the exact error message I was.

Does any other Dreamcast game work?

Well my game is stuck on race finish rankings only see me $0 but I reversed victory and saw bogas come across won't proceed need to force quit no $$$

I just got that same "not enough memory" error. I imagine that's an issue with the game and not the server but not sure. Anyone who played this back in the day that remembers this error?

This error seems to occur a lot lately. I had the same error in our NYC race yesterday.
It is caused by a bogus packet sent by one player, that the server relays to everyone else, causing this error. I don't know if it's a game bug, or a consequence of a server bug.
For now I'll update the game server so that these packets are ignored.

For some reason, I can't connect to the chat server and the game kicks me from a match if it has more than two players in it. I've tried it with both DCnet and vanilla Dreampi.

What happened to the speed camera earnings?
Before I was earning ~$300,000, now I'm earning ~$92,000 even if I hit all the speed cameras at full speed!
The repair costs outweigh my earnings!! I'm class A and I'm currently leading the rankings, it's not worth using Nitro Shockwave anymore, it wasn't like that! What happened?
