Phantasy Star Online + DreamShell

Hi everyone! I've been playing a lot of Phantasy Star Online using DreamShell (SD Card adapter). After I optimized the CDI to ISO the game runs really well. There is just one problem with this setup, I can't revive others players and also use any kind of magic to support them.

Some friends have told me, if I use the GDI file I'll not have this problem, however the GDI doesn't contain all the patches necessary for the quests. So I want to ask, is there any way to apply all the patches in the original GDI file?

Thanks a lot.

I've used both Ive's CDI and an optimized PAL GDI (doesn't need to be patched) and have the issue either way. I don't think it has anything to do with the image. It's how DreamShell loads the game.

Thanks a lot for the reply pcwzrd13! It's a shame that it can't be solved. This issue really annoys me

Same. I love the practically non-existent load times when playing from my HDD modded DC but this bug is a killer. I suppose if you don't care about your teammates then it's not a big deal though. I'm sure it can be fixed. Maybe in a future update to DreamShell.

Is there the same problem with usb gdrom does anyone know?

I've been playing with that and it's working fine, but haven't tried any support magic.

I've encountered no such issues playing PSO online with my USB GD-ROM.

DreamShell does not boot games cleanly, so it has the same bugs as Utopia and an early version of BlueCrab's boot disc.

you can get in contact with one of the dreamshell devs at assemblergames.com , his name is megavolt85. we're the most active faction of dreamcast players so it'd only make sense for this to be a priority

as ives pointed out bluecrab already fixed the bug and the code for doing so is likely in his boot disc already
