I have flashed the 1.7 image months ago and didn't have any problem...maybe you just need to flash it again...

The dhcpcd error is normal. That doesn't indicate a problem. The second error means there's a problem. Either you entered your Wi-Fi details wrong or it can't connect for some other reason (signal is too weak, you're trying to connect to a 5GHz network with the Pi 3 model B (it only supports 2.4GHz), etc.).

That being said, Wi-Fi works fine on 1.7. I and many others use Wi-Fi all the time with it.

Have you tried a different cable or different port?

That is not the issue it seems. My network had two access points, one a 2.4 GHz and the other 5GHz. I disabled the 5GHz one, and it did not fix the issue. And the signal is strong enough.

By the way, I installed DreamPi 1.6 and got a few different errors.

Are you using the built in wifi? (Which btw I hear isn't very good)

There's a few people here who are using dreampi 1.7 on wifi so it can't be the software. Wondering if you have a hardware problem.

Yes, I am. Do you think I should get a wi-fi USB adapter?

You could try that. It would eliminate using the Pi Wi-Fi.
