Raspberry pi4 Dreampi?

I recently got a pi4 that I had issues with. I ended up returning it because it would not output an image. Has anyone used a pi4 to build a dreampi? I am thinking that a model 3b would work best? I just want to be able to use wifi on it. My efforts to add wifi to my model 3a have failed.

What are your thoughts on using the pi4 for Dreampi?

The Pi4 is overkill. Save the money. I've seen some fellas even using a ZeroW.

My 3A works great for wired play. I just can't get any wifi adapter to work on it. It could be my router. The idea was to use a pi4 in Hopes that it has better wifi hardware? The 3b could work for me?

It is not about cpu and ram. I want the latest wifi support. My router is new and it doesn't seem to play well with older adapters.

Changing the software won't get me an adapter. Idk for sure what version the 3b has. I need a new pi, one that supports 802.11Ac or newer. Even though my router supports M and G it is problematic. Tweaking the software could help, but idk shit about linux.
