All the credit goes to Inada-s for reverse-engineering the server for this game! And of course to Shuouma for getting it working on real hardware!

Great to see this!

I had heard in the past that all the Japanese games relied on specific dwango switching hardware to play online and that was the main hurdle with restoring them. Does this mean that it was figured out, or does this roadblock still exist for other games?

How similar are the DC/PS2 versions? Any chance the PS2 and DC versions are compatible together?

Gundam uses the same KDDI system as all the other Capcom games but the other games seem to require something extra that this one doesn't (likely because this is a Bandai game unlike all the others which were both developed and published by Capcom). Shu and I tested some other games and they don't send any data after dialing a connection. It's like they're looking for some sort of extra configuration. They also look for some sort of VMU "NET" file before connecting. Although it does let you proceed without it. In any case, extra research will be needed.

No, they're not cross-compatible.

Nope, no ports to mess with on this one. :)
