Hmmm, interesting. Just tested this out myself and I get the same result with both the CDI and a GDI rip. On my legit GD-ROM it doesn't do it. I'll try ripping my GD-ROM and see if I get the same result. It's possible the CDI was created from the GDI that I found.
Edit: Tried running a direct rip of my GD-ROM and it has the same issue. It almost seems like some sort of copy protection. If the game detects something it's not running from an original disc, it degrades performance. That's my guess anyway. Oddly enough it doesn't effect online play. This regular stutter doesn't occur; just the normal lag.

That's so weird, guess I have a reason to get the real disc now. Thanks for the verification. I'm glad my console isn't the problem.

It really depends. 1v1 matches are usually pretty smooth. 2v2 is iffy. It depends on how good each player's individual connection is and how far away from you they are. We're have some smooth 2v2s and we've had some really laggy ones.
