I've been to the russian site and have attempted to place an order, but did not receive any kind of email back advising of an order being placed. Does anyone know where to purchase, or how exactly to get ahold of the guy selling it?

He takes awhile to reply sometimes 2-3 weeks. Just have to be patient.

Do you happen to know currently if there is an actual need for a 2tb drive when using the USB-GDROM. As far as I can tell, the full DC collection is about 680gb.

Yea be patient, it took several weeks just to get a reply then like 2 months before it showed up at my door. Kinda takes the fun out of it lol, but it is a great product. I'm running a 275gb ssd which holds more games then I'll ever play.

Quick question. Do the save files have to be on the VMU, or can they be saved to the hdd/ssd?

The USB-GDROM (and GDEMU for that matter) is a optical drive replacement, it acts as if it's the GD-ROM and the USB-storage you connect to it acts as the GD-ROM disc. Therefor it's not possible to save your VMU files to this storage.

Difference is shipping time. Except the last option he will be offering a pre installed lid switch. Its optional and i actuall installed mune myself. The switch allows you to disc swap like for games like d2. Its an easy solder job just take the switch from your gdrom drive you are removing and put it on his board

I went back and looked, thanks for clarifying those are shipping prices. I admit however i am confused on what you said about the lid switch. May i ask you to explain that differently? Do you have pictures of your setup by chance? Thank you :)

Its the switch that detects if the lid is closed or not. When you disc swap a game you have to open and close the lid the same as if you had the real discs. My proxy server at work blocks his site but he has videos of how the disc swap works on his site. Here are some pics of the switch installed on his board.

here are the 4 holes in the corner where it goes. The notch on the switch allows it to only go one way so its fool proof
